This particular blade was made by a sword smith from Kaga Province, named Kiyomitsu, of the Fujiwara school, around 1504. It still has the mounts and silk sword bag from that era. It has Kanteisho papers as well as a letter from the 1948 Japanese antiques dealer in Kyoto Japan attesting to these facts. This smith is listed in Hawley’s as KIY235 with a 15 point rating.
